Post and Telegraph Building
Neoplateresque style building from the early 20th century
Located at the north end of Calle Mayor, a few meters from the railway station and the popular Los Jardinillos park, it was projected at the beginning of the past century (1916) under the plans of the then municipal architect Jacobo Romero. His intention was to merge Plateresque with other elements typical of the local aesthetics, such as the cantilevered cornice that seems to recall the typical buildings in the north of the province. Inside, a small covered patio, with columns and an iron balcony in the center, works as a distributor for the rest of the rooms. In the gables of the arches, you can still see winged wheels with letters between the spokes and telegraph poles.
