Museum of the water

Located in the Palencia Canal Dock, the Water Museum occupies an old building formerly used as a grain store.

The new exhibition proposal of the Water Museum offers various actions that aim to enhance and motivate the splendor of the Canal de Castilla as a tourist-cultural resource.

The visitor will be able to enjoy an immersive and multisensory experience with which they will be able to explore its landscapes, historical sites and appreciate its fauna.

More than 150 square meters of projection that will allow you to enjoy filming of the Canal in 360 degrees and observe different locations in all its dimensions, panoramic images, aerial plans, 3D effects, mapping resources, surround sound and an original soundtrack to further increase the sensory impact.

The Museum tour will be divided into 4 different experiences:

- The first is entitled THE GREAT JOURNEY. The central room of the Museum will become a portal where the rules of space and time are broken. A journey through key moments of the Canal to visit the most characteristic places from surprising perspectives.

- The second projection area, MEMORIES, shows the canal in operation in the 1930s through valuable original documents of the time that have been rescued from the Castilla y León Film Library and the Duero Hydrographic Confederation.

- Next, the visitor will enjoy four MOVING PICTURES through light illusions. It is a unique videomapping show in Castilla y León. Poetry in movement that will awaken the illusions of the spectators. In addition, the smell will be the protagonist at this point of the tour since you can enjoy a sensory experience thanks to some nebulizer systems that distribute the floral scents of the channel, awakening the memory.

- Finally, the tour will end with the proposal AGUA DE VIDA. Again, in the central room an experience will be lived that combines the sounds and colors of the Canal and will bring us closer to the texture of the natural environment. They will even invite you to dive underwater.
